With memories in his back pack and miles on his shoes Alan W. Young passed away at home on the evening of September 7th 2022.
Alan was born on October 5th, 1947 to Bill and Martha Young, joining his sister Mary Ann in Seattle, Washington. He spent his childhood years between Seattle and the family vacation home on Camano Island. Shortly after graduation from Ballard High School he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, supporting the Vietnam conflict. While stationed at McCord Air Force base lifelong friendships were established. He was a true veteran.
Alan worked for Bayliner Marine and retired from The Boeing Airplane Company. He said “Boeing is the best job I ever had.”
Many of his family and friends benefited from his love of cooking and bread baking. Though, Alan’s favorite hobby was to travel. His love of travel took him from National Parks to passport required destinations.
Alan was Patti’s husband for 39 years and the father of three children. Treena of North Carolina, Matthew of Washington and Joshua (Tessa) Nebraska. One very proud Papa of Peyton and Sage of Nebraska.
