Kalispell

Alisa Jeannette Greer-Gamma, 46, a beloved mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly due to complications from asthma on January 18, 2025, at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, Montana.

Born in Sheridan, Wyoming to Richard (Rick) and April Greer on March 12, 1978, Alisa joined two older brothers, Robert (Stuart) and Brent Aaron Greer. Being born on National Girl Scout Day and named Sheridan County Girl Scout Baby of the Year, it was fitting for a girl who would grow to be adventurous, bold, kind-hearted, and free-spirited, having a deep love for nature and animals.

As a young girl, Alisa enjoyed Girl Scout activities, competing in soccer and softball, family fishing and camping trips, and tagging along with her brothers on motorcycle and snowmobile excursions. When she was only twelve years old, Alisa spent ten days horseback, riding the Cowboy State Centennial Wagon Train trail with nine other Girl Scouts from around the state. Joining the wagon train in Painted Rock Canyon near Otto, they rode hot and dusty trails over several hundred miles of sagebrush, arriving in Cody. The best part of the trip, Alisa said, was ‘getting to meet a lot of people’.

Always beating to her own drum, Alisa left Sheridan in December 1995, relocating to Salt Lake City where she graduated from high school at age 16. Setting her sights further, Alisa moved to San Francisco in 1996 studying and specializing in the culinary arts, becoming a Certified Sous Chef. After returning to Sheridan briefly, Alisa traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she worked in food service and attended the Community College of Allegheny County. With a focus on secondary education, Alisa moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004 attending University of Nevada, Las Vegas until 2007, at which time she moved to Kalispell, Montana. Alisa obtained her Associate's in Science and Arts at Flathead Community College, graduating with her Bachelors in Secondary Education, Broadfield Sciences at University of Great Falls, Montana in 2011.

Although Alisa was passionate and dedicated to her aspirations to obtain a degree in higher education, she never lost sight of what was to become most important to her, her family.

Alisa met Brice Eldon Gamma at a softball game in Kalispell in 2008, describing their meeting as ‘love at first sight’. Brice and Alisa were married in Kalispell on April 2, 2010; but not before a son was born into that union. Chase Roland Gamma was born on April 15, 2009, in Kalispell.

With Alisa’s desire to learn, explore, and stretch her boundaries still, travels would take Gamma’s to Holbrook, Arizona where she taught eighth grade Earth Science and Physics to 12th graders at the schools there.

In 2011, at a time when the oil fields were booming in North Dakota, the Gamma’s relocated to Watford City. Soon thereafter, a daughter would bless the family. Dakota Rai Gamma was born on November 2, 2012. In 2014, the family would return to Montana where they reside today.

Alisa was a devoted mother and wife who enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing with her family. Having a great fondness for pets, she cared for many. While Alisa had talent for creating delicate hand and craft work, she also enjoyed woodworking, rockhounding, gardening with her children, softball, roller derby, and singing karaoke.

Having a heart the size of Texas, Alisa would befriend, stick up for, and take the fall for anyone in a time of need. In keeping with her generous spirit, Alisa donated her kidneys and liver so that others may live. A heartfelt thank you to the Kalispell police department, EMT’s and Logan Health Medical Center hospital staff for doing everything they could for Alisa and assisting the family through their painful transition.

Alisa is survived by her husband, Brice; children, Chase and Dakota; mom and stepdad, April and Lane Barker of Sequim, Washington; brothers Stuart (Julie) of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Brent (Brandi) Greer of Missoula, Montana; step-siblings, Melanie Bangerter of Lehi, Utah, Marshall Barker of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Valerie Eastman of West Richland, Washington; nephews and nieces Aaron Treat, Hailey, Michael, William and Gabby Greer; in-laws, Roland and Ella Gamma of Watford City, North Dakota; brother-in-law, Bruce Gamma of Kalispell, Montana; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and beyond.

Alisa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Carl and Kathryn Louise (Waller) Lambert, and Robert Floyd and Ruth Patricia (Chase) Greer; and her father Richard Philip (Rick) Greer.

In Alisa’s honor, a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.
