Allan Gayle Graham, 78, of Kalispell "walked into the loving arms of Jesus" on Feb. 28, 2013.
"Patiently waiting for his arrival was his wife Shirley, whom he has missed for 29 years. He was also welcomed by his parents, Lloyd and Marie; sister, Betty Lou; brother, Keith; and in-laws, Mark and Verna Jerrow."
Allan was born in Kalispell and attended schools at Half Moon Country School, Lodge Grass, Townsend and Helena Flats, and graduated from Flathead County High School.
Allan worked for the railroad and the aluminum plant in Columbia Falls until complications from multiple sclerosis forced him to retire in the late 70s.
Allan was involved in many community activities while his children were young, including Columbia Falls Rural Fire Department, Columbia Falls Booster Club, Columbia Falls Swim Team, and Columbia Falls Baseball Association. While living at Heritage Place, he served multiple terms as resident council president and was the only designated resident to run the model train in the front lobby.
Although he loved his children, being able to spend time with and watch his grandchildren in all the activities they participated in brought a tremendous amount of joy to his life.
He was an avid Wildcat fan, a devoted Steeler fan and a Montana Grizzly fan.
Allan never complained about the hard knocks of life. He lived his life as a great example to those close to him and that has made his family so proud.
Missing him forever and always are his brother, Lloyd of Huntingburg, Ind.; brother-in-law, Larry Jerrow of Spokane; children, Russell and Jackie Graham, Ken and Leah Levitt, Kenny and Dreama Graham, and Raymond and Marilyn Graham; grandchildren, Josh, Lila and Zach Levitt, Chad and Tory Graham, Adam and Jessica Tidwell, Dirk and Gage Graham; and great-grandchildren, Parker Levitt, Eli, Evan, Ella and Abi Graham. His extended family at Heritage Place Nursing home were near and dear to his heart.
Quoting D.L. Moody, "Soon you will read in the newspaper that I am dead. Don't believe it for one moment. I will be more alive than ever before."
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 4 at Faith Alliance Church, with urn burial following the reception at 1:30 p.m. at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Allan may be sent to Columbia Falls Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 2732, Columbia Falls, MT 59912 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
