Alvin Chester Gordon, 72, passed away Dec. 8, 2013, at his Bigfork residence.
Alvin was born Nov. 10, 1941, in Butte, the son of Chester and Eva Jo (Clark) Gordon. He was raised in Bigfork.
He worked as a farmer, pipefitter and certified welder. Alvin was a member of the Local No. 459 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.
Alvin was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy.
He married Mavis Gordon in 1993 in Bigfork.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mavis, of Bigfork; son, David DeShazer, of Bigfork; daughter, Julie DeShazer, of Kalispell; son, Thomas DeShazer, of Bigfork; brother, Doug Gordon, of Bigfork; three sisters, one brother; four grandsons, and three great-grandsons.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork.
The family is requesting memorial donations be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 8559 Highway 35, in Bigfork, toward funeral expenses for Alvin.
