Bardina Aspenlieder lost her battle with Parkinson’s disease on Nov. 2, 2015, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on Oct. 12, 1953, in Devils Lake, North Dakota, to Julius and Elizabeth Senger.
Bardina graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1972 and met her future husband Lawrence Aspenlieder shortly thereafter. The two moved to Kalispell in 1978 to their house on Ashley Lake Road where they lived for 35 years.
Lawrence and Bardina had three boisterous boys, Bryon, Chad and Adam. Family was very important to her and her boys were her greatest joy in life.
Bardina worked many years with the Danner Shoe Company and more than 20 years at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in the laundry department.
Bardina was a fun-loving woman who was always the life of the party. Her infectious smile could light up the world and her jokes could make a grown man blush. Bardina had a passion for sewing and woodwork. Even when her hands became crippled from arthritis she crafted a wooden bassinet with a toddler bed for her grandson and a christening gown for her granddaughter.
Bardina will be greatly missed by all who knew her and her memory will forever be in our hearts.
Bardina was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Senger.
She is survived by her father, Julius Senger; her brother, Gaylen, and his wife Sandy; brother, Stacey, and his husband David; sisters, Arlinda and Victoria; and her ex-husband, Lawrence. She is also survived by the loves of her life, Bryon, Chad, and Adam and his wife Deanna and their two children Corbin and Ariella. Bardina also had numerous friends in the Flathead Valley.
Services for Bardina will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 7 at the Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with a reception following at the home of Adam and Deanna Aspenlieder.
The family would like to thank Brendan House staff for the love and compassion shown to Bardina over the last one and a half years.
Donations in Bardina’s memory can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
