December 9, 1926 — May 8, 2020

Kalispell

Bonnie was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Fairview, Montana, to Joe and Mamie Lewis. She was the eighth child of a family of 12 children. She passed away May 8, 2020, of natural causes.

Bonnie was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She married Donald Buckallew on Feb. 26, 1943. During World War II she served her country by welding on war ships in Oregon. After the war they first made their home in Missoula and then moved to Kalispell in 1948, where she lived for the rest of her life. In June of 1959, they bought a farm west of Kalispell where she spent some of the best years of her life and raised her six kids. In 1976, they sold the farm and moved into Kalispell to her current home on Meridian Road.

She was known for keeping a beautiful yard with gorgeous flowers and always loved working on her yard and in her garden.

Bonnie loved God first but loved and took pride in her children and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, all of her siblings, a baby girl and two grandchildren, Jerry Luckey and Tonia (Luckey) Ford.

She is survived by her six children Sandra (Jim) Haupt, Cheryl (Jim) Howard, Vicki (Cecil) York, Charles (Laura Lee), David (Shelly), Dean (Karen), 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at the Church of Christ.
