Burke Gerard McCormick, 61, passed away surrounded by his family on May 5, 2018. A celebration of life will be held on July 14, 2018, at Cut Bank Creek Brewery from 1-4 pm. Private burial of ashes will take place on July 16.

Born on July 16, 1956, in Cut Bank, Montana, Burke grew up in a big, caring family and made many lifelong friends. On December 20, 1980, Burke married the love of his life, Heidi, in Conrad. Together they raised three children, showing them kindness, support and joy through their love for each other. His three grandchildren knew him as Papa, and whenever he arrived, they experienced life as one big celebration with lots of music, presents, treats and laughter.

In his youth, Burke found his passion in agriculture as a farmhand, which inspired the rest of his career. He earned his degree in welding, traveled the country as a custom cutter, and eventually found his home working at Service Supply, now Frontline Ag. He started there as a hired hand and later became an owner. He enjoyed the new challenges agriculture presented each day. He loved rolling wheat fields, working with machinery, selling quality product and most of all, serving the farmers of north central Montana.

Burke had many passions. He spent countless weekends camping, hiking and biking with family and friends in Glacier Park. His excitement for technology was infectious, and he always had the latest and greatest gadget. He knew the best restaurants, appreciated a great glass of cabernet and loved his mom’s German chocolate cake. Burke’s sense of humor, generosity and kind spirit made him the best friend, father and husband anyone could ever have.

Burke was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Rosemary McCormick, and his brother Timothy McCormick. Survivors include his wife Heidi of Cut Bank; children Megan and Tony of Yakima, WA; Laurel and Jack of Vashon, WA; and Neil of Cut Bank; his grandchildren Jack, Daniel Burke, and Rosemary; and his siblings, Mike and Candace McCormick of Nooksack, WA; Dan McCormick of Kalispell; Tom and Betty McCormick of Cut Bank; Ann Clark of Shelby and many nieces and nephews.
