Carol Sue Schreibeis (Gregg), 61, joined the choirs of Heaven April 24, 2015. Carol was born in Whitefish MT to James and Gloria Gregg (Hoffman) on October 28, 1953. She attended the Whitefish School system and graduated in 1972. Her desire and natural mothering instincts were honed as the eldest sister to James (“Skettilegs”), Jeff, Jerry & princess Tracey. In 1973 she briefly attended Eastern College in Billings, MT; it was here she met her one and only true love and partner for life, Mark Schreibeis. They were married on December 15th, 1973 in Whitefish, MT. In 1974, Carol and Mark welcomed the “spark” of their life, Heidi Lynn, and added to the tinder box Jason Wayne in 1977. They moved from Billings to Rapid City,SD in 1977, and to Kalispell in 1978 - it was there their family took root. Carol was an active, positive, and energizing member of all she was a part of. She often referred to herself as a “joiner” and “she just couldn’t help but jump in”. Her life centered around her unwavering faith, joy, and hope in her Savior Jesus Christ - and between both Carol and Mark, they raised their family accordingly. She played an integral role at both Trinity Lutheran and the Church at Creston, serving as board member of LWML, Missions, sunday school teacher, bible study leader, MOPS, church secretary, and after the relentless prodding of her daughter a beautiful contribution to the choir. Carol truly personified the Lords’ mission to “love thy neighbor” by selfless acts of love and charity, including giving the gift of sight to an unknown recipient after death. Carol leaves a legacy of passion for the Lord and true love and commitment to her husband and children. She is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Heidi Lester (Peter), son Jason Schreibeis, brothers; Jim Johnson (Irene), Jeff Gregg, Jerry Gregg, sister; Tracey Schumacher (Trent), beloved Aunt and Mother figure; Kathleen Gregg, grandchildren; Kayne Schreibeis, Jeremey and Erika Collingwood, Tyrion and Nakiyah Schreibeis, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and dear friends. Services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 11 am, at the Church of Creston. Memorials may be made to any cancer treatment and recovery center of your choice, the Hope Pregnancy Center in Kalispell, and the mission field associated with any congregation. In honor of Carol’s love of the poem, “When I Am An Old Woman, I Shall Wear Purple” by Jenny Joseph, both her sister and daughter invite you to wear purple.
