Clara Kaufman

May 21, 1924 — February 19, 2018

Clara ‘Lucille’ Wendt Kaufman, 93 of Kalispell, surrounded by family, passed peacefully from her home on this earth, into eternal life with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 19th, 2018.

Lucille was born May 21, 1924 in Kalispell, MT, the first of three children born to Max and Clara Wendt.

She was well-loved, and an adored helpmate to her beloved husband, Joe. She was a loving and talented mother.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Grace (Flagg) Wendt, her half-brother Alfred Max Wendt, her sister Helen Counsell, and her brother Claire ‘Buddy’ Wendt.

Lucille is survived by her devoted husband of 74 years, Joseph Luke Kaufman of Kalispell. Her children: Ardath Moellring (Philip), Kenneth L Kaufman (Barbara), Leola Fredericks (Jerry), Barbara Fenner (Gary), Shirley Batz (Bob), all of Kalispell. Donna Grimes (Joe), Seguin, TX; and David L Kaufman (Karri) Missoula. Fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the many wonderful caregivers, Home Health nurses and aides who cared for Lucille over the years, as well as the ER staff at KRMC and the hospice team who cared for her at the end. Special thanks to Linda Spangle for the dear friendship and tender care she gave to mom. You have been a great blessing to us.

Viewing will take place Friday, February 23, from 4 to 7 pm at Buffalo Hills Funeral Home.

Extended family will meet for private burial at Conrad Memorial Cemetery, 11:30 am on Saturday, February 24th.  Friends and family are then invited to a celebration of life at 1:00 pm, Saturday at Adventure Church, 348 2nd Avenue West, Kalispell.

In lieu of flowers- memorial gifts are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society-https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate or  The Christian and Missionary Alliance’ Great Commission Fund (please earmark for Israel). –https://secure.cmalliance.org/give/
