Cody Deets Johnson, 48, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, after an all too short battle with brain cancer. He was in the loving company of family members.
Cody was born Aug. 3, 1965, in Fremont, Neb. to Gilbert Ross and Dian Gammel Johnson.
After graduating from Oakland-Craig High School, Oakland, Neb., he served our country in the Marine Corps for six years, then worked as an over-the-road truck driver and a farmer/cattle operation foreman. Cody was successful in all areas of agri-business.
In 2009, Cody moved to the Flathead, where he met and married his wife Angela. He spent the last few years as a welder/fitter. When he was diagnosed, Cody was taking steps toward his dream of getting back into farming. He loved hunting, fishing and all things outdoors. Cody was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend.
Cody is survived by wife, Angela and their young daughters, Audrey and Alila; three children from previous marriages, daughter Jessica K. Johnson and her fiance, Levi Owens of Columbia Falls, son Joshua M. Johnson of Fort Collins, Colo., and son Martin W.C. Johnson and his wife, Katherine of Pittsburgh; mother, Dian Gammel Nelson of Lyons, Neb.; brother, Gilbert P. Johnson and his wife, Rae of Stapleton, Neb.; sister, deSilva Magill of Herman, Neb.; aunt, Jean Neary and her husband, Don of Tekamah, Neb.; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews; his father- and mother-in-law, Dale and Susan Merrill of Kalispell; brothers-in-law, Christopher Bishop and his fiancee, Aspen Rose of Kalispell; and Jonathan Bishop and his wife, Kate of Sarasota, Fla.
He was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandparents; father, Gilbert R. Johnson; aunt, Gayle Olson; and brothers-in-law, William "Bill" Magill and Allen Largent.
