Colleen Breeze

Colleen Wills Breeze passed away peacefully on Sept. 12 after a valiant 13-year battle with cancer.

Colleen was born on April 10, 1943 to Colin and Winifred Wills in Kalispell. Colleen attended school in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead High School in 1961. After graduation, Colleen worked for the Kalispell Credit Bureau.

On Dec. 18, 1961, she married Stephen Breeze. Together, they had four children. Once the children were older, Colleen became a bookkeeper at Buffalo Hill Golf Club where she also served as a board member for many years. She was instrumental in BHGC naming the “Cameron 9” in honor of Dave Cameron, an original BHGC member. In approximately 1976, Colleen joined Crime Stoppers where she served for over 40 years.

Colleen enjoyed golfing, bridge, family, and word games (the Uno games with her grandchildren will never be forgotten). Colleen enjoyed crafting: knitting, crocheting and painting ceramics. Her children all have cherished handmade crafts made with love by our mom. Family was everything to Colleen, and she took great pride in being the matriarch of our family and often put their needs before her own.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Barbara; her brother, Rob; her grandson, Austin; and her beloved Yorkie, Ritzy.

Colleen is survived by her husband of 61 years; her son, Scott (and wife Patty); her daughter, Collette (and husband Kim); her daughter, Stephanie (and husband Ray); and her daughter, Catherine (and husband Patrick). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lauren, Colin (and wife Lexi), Nicholas, and Alexa; and great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Hayden.

Per Colleen’s wishes, a private celebration of life was held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Humane Society of Northwestern Montana.
