Dacia Marie Finch, 55, of Kalispell, passed away March 30, 2017.
Dacia was born Dec. 4, 1961, in Polson to Bill and Barbara Finch. She was raised in Valley View then ventured on to Dixon and graduated from Ronan High School in 1980. In the years following she moved to Kalispell.
Dacia’s love of children blossomed into several nanny jobs, which lead her out of the valley to Washington, D.C., and Denver. Dacia eventually moved home and began working at Sykes’. She worked there for several years before moving on as a faithful employee of Semitool, which later changed hands to Applied Materials. She spent a total of 25 years working for the company as a receiving agent, parts expeditor and inventory/shipping clerk. Dacia spent the last year of her life traveling around visiting family and friends.
Dacia will forever be remembered for her caring heart. She would have given the shirt off her back to help anyone in need. Dacia made everyone that knew her feel like family because she always welcomed you in with open arms.
Dacia had a knack with children and it was a rare occurrence that you would see her without a niece or nephew or even a local kid from down the street. Her yard was always filled with neighborhood kids playing water balloons, slip ‘n’ slide or with craft projects. The children in her life adored her and the time she devoted to them.
Dacia loved softball and played on a local team for several years. She enjoyed planting flowers and working in her garden and her neighbors’ garden! Dacia had a laugh that could be heard across the room and tended to be contagious. She loved bright colors and was usually seen in something neon or tie-dye — although her favorite color was purple.
Dacia was preceded in death by her mother and father Bill and Barb Finch, and brother-in-law Jim Clouse.
Dacia leaves behind her siblings, Brad Finch (Sharon), Marti Jo Clouse, and Shawn Finch (Savannah Wise); nephews and nieces, Brandon Clouse (Jessica Abel), Ty Clouse (Randi Erickson), Cody Eaton (Heather Eaton), Brittney Koning (Curtis Koning), Jayla and Wyatt Finch; great-nieces and nephews, Ryder and Reagan, Kayden and Autumn Clouse; aunties and uncles, and a ton of cousins and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her adventured life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, at Marti Jo’s home. This celebration will be a potluck, so please bring a dish and wear bright colors tie-dyed to help us celebrate Dacia.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Flathead County Search & Rescue to help save others in need.
