Daniel Ryan

In it with great sadness we share the death of Daniel Jay “Red” Ryan of Trego, MT February 1, 2023 at the age of 75.  He passed away peacefully at Logan Health Hospital in Kalispell, MT with both his children at bedside.

A private celebration of his life was held February 3, 2023 at his home in Trego, MT.

He was born in Oakland, CA to Kenneth Malcolm Ryan and Betty Albertine “Abbie” (Kyle) on February 15, 1947.  He graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, WA in June of 1965 then went to work for Nalley Foods in Tacoma, WA until he moved back to Spokane and began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1967.  Working as a Foreman on the railroad eventually brought him to Whitefish, MT where he later settled and eventually retired in Trego, MT in 1995.  He enjoyed rebuilding cars and built a large workshop where he spent the majority of his time tinkering.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and eldest brother Robert Ryan. He is immediately survived by his siblings, sister Nancy Ryan and (Dave) of Eugene, OR and his brother Stephen Ryan (Annie) of Tacoma, WA.  He is also survived by his two children daughter, Shéri Ryan Dirksen (Shawn) of Santa Barbara, CA and his son Daniel Ryan and (Kristine) of Lakewood, WA. Additionally he is survived by his four grandchildren Conner Ryan (25), Caitlin Ryan (23), Sophia Dirksen (18) and Taylor Dirksen (16).
