Diane Marie Stevens, 60, of Kalispell, passed away December 18, 2016.
Diane was born to Clarence Konter and Bernice Apka on July 1, 1956 in Rushford, Minnesota. After graduating from Mayo High School, Diane joined the U.S. Army and became one of our nation’s first female paratroopers. In her lifetime she embraced many occupations that included a greenhouse grower, homemaker extraordinaire, and retail sales manager.
She is survived by her lifelong love and husband Wayne L Stevens of nearly 42 years. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her daughter, Jennifer R. Sorrell, and a slew of Konter siblings: Barbara, Thomas, Nancy, Mary, Elaine, and Eleanor. Both parents and brothers Michael and Robert Konter preceded her in death.
Diane had a generous heart and unrelenting determination in anything she endeavored to undertake. She possessed an unparalleled love for family, animals, doughnuts, coffee, rock picking and laughter (not necessarily in that order.) Her family and many friends will celebrate her life each and every day by striving to exemplify her compassion, kindness, dedication, and joy.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the Brain Support Network, P.O. Box 7264, Menlo Park, California 94026 in her name and bring in a batch of homemade goodies to your coworkers. Save the last cup of coffee for her.
Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
