Domingo Guerrero

October 18, 1943 — August 29, 2019

On Thursday, August 29, 2019, Domingo Vizcarra Guerrero, also known as Mingo, loving husband and father of 3 children passed away peacefully at his home in Bigfork Montana at the age of 75.

Mingo was born on October 18, 1943 in Salinas, California to George Silva Guerrero and Petra Vizcarra.

In 1961, Mingo graduated from high school in Salinas. His family relocated to Napa CA. After graduating he went to the Napa Jr. College where he met his wife, Cheryl Elaine Dolezal. After they married, they moved to San Lois Obispo and Mingo attended Cal Poly to earn his Bachelors of Science, with a Major in Industrial Technology while working as a correctional officer at the State Prison, California Men’s Colony.

In 1966 Mingo and his wife had their first child, Deren Lee and two years later had their second child, Audrey Maria. After earning his degree, the family returned to Napa, CA and Mingo worked as a correctional officer at the Vacaville, CA State Prison. Shortly after he was promoted to Sargent, being the youngest Sargent, the Vacaville prison had promoted at that time.  In 1972, Troy Dino, his third child was born. That same year he started his insurance agency which became a successful business in Hayward, CA. He relocated his business to his hometown of Napa, CA where he was residing. He continued to run his agency, totaling 45 years as a Farmers Insurance Agent.  In 2003, Mingo and his wife moved to Bigfork, Montana, semi retiring, continuing to work remotely as a business consultant for his family business until his passing.

Mingo had a passion for ministry, starting a church, Spirit of Truth, in Pablo MT. He became an ordained minister April 21, 2017. He had a love and burden for the Native American people.  In 2007, He earned his Master of Ministry in Biblical Counseling Services, later receiving his PHD degree in Biblical Studies in Biblical Counseling in 2012. He used his talents and education for his ministry, touching countless lives. He loved racquetball and taught classes at the local gym in Bigfork, MT.  He was an entrepreneur, always thinking of new business ideas and investments.

He was preceded in death by his Father, George Silva Guerrero and Mother, Petra Vizcarra Perez.

Mingo is survived by his wife, Cheryl Elaine Guerrero, son, Deren Lee Guerrero, daughter-in law, Sandy Guerrero, grandson, Deren Jr. and wife, Rachel and great granddaughter, Aliyah. Grandson, Daniel and granddaughter, Christine Guerrero, daughter, Audrey Marie Bruno, son-in law Tony Bruno and grandson, Tyler Bruno, son, Troy Dino Guerrero, daughter in law, Karina Guerrero, granddaughter, Sophia and grandson, Dominic Guerrero; siblings, George Guerrero, Benjy Guerrero, Eugene Guerrero and Vernon Jr. Perez, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will be having a private Celebration of Life . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Spirit of Truth Church, mailed to 33862 Westview Dr., Bigfork, MT, 59911.
