Donald Gene Carder went home to be with Jesus on April 26, 2019, at the age of 94, in Kalispell.
He was a wonderful man, loving husband, amazing father and grandfather. He will be missed a lot. He served two tours of duty in World War II. Don crossed the equator 50 times. He was aboard the USS Honolulu when it was torpedoed by the Japanese and miraculously floated in the ocean for 15 hours before being rescued. A true American hero and loved by many.
He is survived by his sons, Jerry Carder and Frank Brisendine; his daughters, Donna Sue Carder, Konnie Brisendine, daughter-in-law ClaireMarie Brisendine; grandchildren, Blaine and Carl Brisendine, Holli Brisendine Blokker, Racheal Brisendine Schreiner, Lance Crowell, Kellee Carver and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at The RIVER Church (Old Gateway West theater) in Kalispell at 2 p.m. May 18.
