Donna Marrie Kloster Moon, 74, passed away May 10, 2022, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell due to multiple health issues.
She was born Oct. 21, 1947, in Spicer, Minnesota. She enjoyed her years in the Girl Scouts. Donna graduated from New London High School in Minnesota.
Donna was working as a nurse when she married John S. Moon in 1966 in Spicer.
Along with being a farm wife, she also worked at Fingerhut Suitcase factory in Benson, Minnesota, and on the production line at Jennie “O” turkey meat processing plant in Willmar, Minnesota. Donna had exceptionally quick hands and did quality work. She and John also co-owned Moon’s Lawn and Garden in Kalispell for many years.
Donna belonged to a ladies club whose members were farm wives and neighbors.
She also enjoyed bowling for many years and belonged to leagues, holding the office of secretary wherever they lived. Donna loved people. She was a great piano player and John would often sing to her music. She loved to go fishing and camping. Donna also loved to dance. She was always playing board games and cards.
Donna was preceded in death by her father Erwin Kloster, mother Evangaline Kloster Schwartz and stepfather Otis Schwartz, and her grandparents Jerry and Lula Bidwell.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John S. Moon, of Kalispell; daughters, Janelle Bauer of Clinton and Monica Moon of Choteau; grandchildren, Zachary and Syterra Bauer and Dawn Rudolph, and their families, all from Montana; great-grandchildren, Zachariah, Abigail and Elijah; sisters, Judy Tebben, Emily Rand and Sally Manson, and their families; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at noon July 9 at her daughter Janelle’s residence, 9721 Neighbor Way, Clinton, MT 59825.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
