Dora Lee "Dode" Ostrom Wolf, age 80 , passed away on Sunday April 5, 2015 at Brendan House in Kalispell, Dode was born on January 25, 1935 in Plains Montana to Logan and Hazel (McAdam) Ostrom, she joined three brothers, George, Richey and Alva.
She started her early years at a Flathead mine west of Kalispell. The family then moved to Kalispell in 1945, She graduted from High School there in 1953, following was two years of education at the U of M. Dode worked for the Penny's Company in Kalispell for several years. She also taught school at Foy's Lake for a year , In 1959 s he married Carl Wolf and moved to Whitefish, Dode started sking on Big Mountian when the only way up to the ski lift was a Jeep Motor! Teaching sking in the early 60's was one of the subjects that brought out several comical stories. Dode was an avid Golfer and served on the Whitefish Lake Golf Course Board of Directors, She won the Ladies Golf Club Champion four times. She would get up at 5:00 a.m and go to the starters Box in her jammies to get the best T- Time for her friends! Only God, Lee Trevino and Dode Wolf could hit a one iron!
Dode was famous for her story telling around campfires and numerous fishing trips. She was notorious for one liners" that would come out of that witty, resourceful brain of hers. She was definetly one in a million! She lived life her way and never worried what anyone else thought, What an amazing Woman!
Dode started her own obituary which stated, "if there's anything you kids want to add that's ok" I could go on and on about how wonderful I was but I don't know how much would be true and what would be B.S. You know how I loved to tell stories. I loved the outdoors,fishing and camping, But I loved my children more then fishing! “ She definitely loved her family cuz' we all know how much she loved fishing.
Doe was proceeded in death by her parents, brother Alva in 1951 in the Korean War, brother Richie in 1985, she is survived by her three children daughter Teri Wolf and Gerald Zieg of Missoula, daughter Tami and Vern Down of Aubern, California, and son Matt Wolf of Whitefish. Brother George Ostrom and wife Iris of Kalispell and numerous nieces and nephews. Dode also had an uncountable number of wonderful and dear friends.
