Dorothy Hemmah

June 21, 1928 — July 9, 2011

Dorothy Eileen Rein Hemmah, age 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 9, 2011 at her Somers home.  Dorothy was born at home in Campbell, Minnesota on June 21, 1928.  She was the only child of Alick and Mae, but had many cousins.  Dorothy attended country school for 4 years in Marshall County, South Dakota.  After 4th grade, there were not enough kids to keep the school open so they had to make arrangements to go to town school in Veblen, South Dakota.  Dorothy attended Northern State College in Aberdeen, S.D. and taught country schools for 5 years.  She married Roland Hemmah in 1949.  She and Dad moved from South Dakota in 1960 and followed highway construction from Kildeer ND; Hebron, ND; Miles City. Fort Benton, Brady, Babb, Lake Five, Superior, and Bonner, Montana, before settleing in Somers in 1965.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Alick and Mae (Nesbitt) Rein.  She is survived by her husband Roland of Somers; her 4 children, Faye (Stewart) Schiele of Ronan, MT; Allan Hemmah of Lakeside, MT; Lorrie (James) Werner of Lance Creek, WY; and Ann Holland of Helena, MT; 7 grandchilren and 18 great grandchildren.
