Dorothy "Dode" Sivright, age 90, passed away peacefully Tuesday August 2, 2011 at her Bigfork home. Dode was born January 23, 1921 to Edward and Edith Manuel in Fergus Falls, MN. The family moved to George, Iowa where she lived until she attended Coe College and graduated with an English Major. While attending Coe College, she was captain of the rifle team and was al All State basketball player. After graduation she moved to Iowa City, IA where she taught school and met and married Donald F. Mirick MD. They settled in Clinton, IA., and had four children. Dr. Mirick was killed in a car accident in 1968. In 1970, she married David H. Sivright Sr. in Aspen, CO. They moved to Glenwood Springs, CO in November 1974, where they formed Coors Western Slope. They lived there until 1986 when they moved to Indian Wells, CA. They also purchased a home in Bigfork, Montana and would winter in California and summer in Montana. They have been full time residents of Bigfork since 2008. Dode stayed active by playing golf, tennis, bridge, snow and water skiing, hunting, and fishing. She was a lifetime member of the PEO. She was also a contributor to numerous activities and charities in the Bigfork area including the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts, various Veteran's organizations, police and fire departments, and the Boy and Girl Scouts councils. She will always be remembered for her generosity, love of family, her unique gift for being a gracious hostess, and for her moral fabric. Dode is survived by her husband David, six children, thirteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
