Dorothy "Dolly" Pluid

April 29, 1948 — November 10, 2020

Kalispell

Dolly has peacefully transitioned into heaven. Dolly was born April 29, 1948, and passed Nov. 10, 2020. Dolly's parents were Albert and B. Jean Irvine of Santa Barbara, California, where she was born and raised. Dolly graduated from San Marcos High School in 1968. After high school, Dolly married Dennis Doherty with whom she had three children. In 1982, Dolly then traveled on to Eureka, Montana, where she married Percy Pluid with whom she also had three children. Then later in life, around the year 2000, Dolly had met the true love of her life, David Leger, with whom she spent her life with until his passing in 2018; after which Dolly resided with her son until her final days.

Dolly had a great love for being outside in the sun. She loved beautiful flowers. She absolutely loved animals, especially her dogs. Dolly was definitely kept on her toes when it came to raising six kids. Dolly worked very hard to make sure her children were always taken care of. She did a variety of jobs from homemaker to bank attendant, vet technician, deli manager, ranch hand, special education teacher and so much more.

Dolly was a breast cancer and small intestinal cancer survivor. Dolly was a strong-willed person who had no limits to what she could do. Dolly was also a very caring and kind soul. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Dolly enjoyed life to the fullest. Dolly’s children and grandchildren were her biggest pride and joy. Words could never express how missed she will be. We love you, Mom!

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents Albert and B. Jean Irvine, and the love of her life, David Leger.

Dolly is survived by her three sisters, Donna Molina, Lorrie Attleberger and Debbie Lopez; Dolly’s six children, David Doherty, Jamie (Sammie) Doherty, Amy (Adam) Shaver, Shane (Kody) Pluid-Lunceford, Ryan (Alyssa) Pluid, and Sara Pluid (Anthony Sundh); Dolly’s 10 grandchildren, Evan Doherty, Kayleena Pereslete, Jessica Doherty, Morgan Badewitz, Aiden Shaver, Ryleigh Kendra and Korbyn Pluid, and Domenic and Kamber Mongan-Sundh; as well as many many, many other family members and close loving friends.

Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, the celebration of Dolly’s life will be held at a later date.
