Edna Naldrett

January 10, 1930 — February 29, 2016

Edna Mae Naldrett, age 86, of Kalispell, MT, died peacefully at home on February 29, 2016 after fulfilling her life’s work on earth.  Surrounded by her family, her quiet passing gave testimony to the peace in her heart.  Born January 10, 1930, to Charles and Ella (Cane) Monroe at Monroe Ranch in East Glacier, Montana, Edna was one of 12 siblings.  As a tiny infant she was placed in a shoebox and carefully kept behind the stove where the warmth protected her from the deep Montana winter.  In 1946 a willowy, tenderhearted teenager with deep convictions, she married Carl Allen (Red) Naldrett Jr.  Together they built a life serving the Lord and raising their nine children.  Edna was the gentle strength that tempered her husbands stalwart leadership both within the home and the church where Carl pastored.  Gentleness, meekness, and selflessness are words that best describe the woman known as mom, grandma, and great-grandma to nine children, 29 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.  Edna never deliberately caused herself to be the center of attention and yet, as the supportive beams of a house silently do their work, so Edna was the strength behind the scenes that her family relied upon implicitly.  Edna had two great loves in this life, that of her Savior Jesus Christ and her family.  As her family grew, Edna’s nurturing influence enveloped each member.  Even through the loss of two of her cherished sons, Edna’s faith never waivered and was a beacon of light for those looking up to her.  Edna’s family will remember the easy laugh of their mother and grandma, especially when in an effort to discipline an unruly son she commanded that he bend over and grab his elbows.  When both realized the mistake the intended discipline was forgotten in peals of laughter.  Favorite past times included visiting yard sales, finding ways to improve her family’s health, and building up each member in quiet conversation and prayer.  Edna’s home was always open to her family so that a constant flow of people could be found in her well-maintained living room and kitchen.  Edna Mae Naldrett, a most loved woman, will live on in the memories of those she leaves behind.  Her beloved husband Carl and two of her cherished sons, Samuel Allen Naldrett and Virgil Allen Naldrett , 4 siblings, Baby Monroe, Hugh Monroe, Clem Monroe, and Robert "Ducky" Jackson precede her in death.  She is survived by her children Daniel (Ruth) Naldrett, Hugh (Dale) Naldrett, Carl (Joy) Naldrett III, Tim (Mary Ann) Naldrett, Joanne (Fidel) Alejandre, Jeanne (Scott) French, and Rebecca (Jay) Phillips, siblings, Joanne Turner, Ella Faye Wetzel, Wesley Monroe, Dolores Monroe, Terry Winchester, Royleen Hard, and Royarnold Corneliuson; 29 grandchildren and 52 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  While a profound sorrow leaves us feeling adrift, we also find solace in the solid rock of faith Edna herself relied upon and are confident we will be rejoined to her one day again soon.  A Wake service will be held on Friday March 4, 2016 at 6:30 P.M. at Hope Church.  A Celebration of Edna’s life will be held on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Hope Church.  Burial will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens.  Friends are encouraged to visit our website at www.buffalohillfh.com to leave notes of condolences for the family.  Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory caring for the family .
