Eloise Marie McLauchlin Hill of Kalispell passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2021 at the age of 84. Eloise was born in Billings, Montana on December 28, 1936 to Hannah Melinda (Denney) and Archie Donald McLauchlin as the youngest of their four children. Eloise’s early life was spent in Belfry. After her father’s passing, the family moved to Billings. Eloise received her BSN in Nursing and MSN in Nursing Education from Montana State College. While at Montana State College, Eloise met Gerald (Jerry) Hays Hill. Eloise and Jerry were married December 28, 1957 in Billings, Montana. Before Eloise completed her graduate degree, she and Jerry welcomed daughters Annette and Jennifer.
Eloise and Jerry later welcomed daughters Sharon and Ramona into their family. Eloise and Jerry raised their girls with a sense of responsibility, work ethic and strength of character. She was a wonderful role model to her family showing that all things could be achieved with personal excellence, dedication, and hard work.
Eloise had a long nursing career. She with other staff initiated a diabetes care program at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She was employee of the year at KRMC in 1997. At the conclusion of her career, she was a nationally certified diabetes educator.
Eloise was always active and adventurous. She loved the outdoors from an early age and spent many happy hours hiking the beautiful mountains in Montana with a close group of friends. Eloise also took time in her retirement to travel and visit cultural exhibits.
Eloise enjoyed volunteering with multiple organizations. Some of the most recent are the Friendship Force and Friends of ImagineIF Library.
Eloise always considered herself very fortunate in life to have received so many blessings and opportunities. She was caring, supportive and deeply grateful for all life brought her way.
Eloise is survived by her husband Jerry and their daughters Annette (Joel) Kushner, Jennifer Jeffrey, Sharon Gwyn and Ramona (Mona) (Steven) Guy; grandchildren Stephanie Wood, Graham Kushner, Harrison Kushner, Anna Zoeller, James Jeffrey, Brooke Jeffrey, Ruby Guy, Eugene Guy and Violet Guy; and greatgrandchildren Izaiah Erickson, Madysen Wood, Luca Zoeller, Kaliber Osterello, Octavia Jeffrey and Haven Turner. And many close friends. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
