Frank Richard Kapelanczyk, Senior died at 83, years of age of natural causes in Kalispell, MT., on January 14, 2015. Frank was born November 25, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland to Leon and Bertha (Pikette) Kapelanczyk. Graveside services will be held at Lone Pine Cemetery, in Bigfork, MT., Friday, March 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. Frank married Emma Marie Zink ( Boots) in 1950, in Baltimore, MD., they were married for 41 years. Frank served in the United States Marine Corps, during and after Korean War, he was discharged as a Staff Sergeant, from Camp Pendleton, CA in 1956. He graduated from High School, and attended City College, in Baltimore, MD., and Hartford Community College, in Belair, MD. Frank worked as a Maryland State Trooper from 1956-1958, retiring from Federal Service, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, MD. He moved his family to Montana in 1973. In Montana he was the owner and operator of J&K Trucking, in Bigfork, MT. He drove log truck for Richards Logging, in Seeley Lake, MT. He always loved Montana and said he could not believe they paid him to drive log truck in the woods. He also delivered campers for S&S Campers all over US and Alaska. In retirement he worked as Court Bailiff for the 11th Judicial Court, in Kalispell, MT. Frank had many hobbies that he enjoyed sailing his sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay, MD. He was 8th man in Maryland to bowl 300 perfect game in 1971. Played golf for several years in Montana & Arizona. Gold Wing rider for years, traveling all over US until health prevented. At age of 74 he traveled to Australia and New Zealand with his brother and scuba dived on Great Barrier Reef. Frank was a member of the Montana Loggers Association, and the Flathead Gold Wing Club. Survivors include his sons & daughters; Kathy & Brian Frame, of Bigfork, MT., Frank Jr. & Bonnie Kapelanczyk, of Bigfork, MT., Susan & Robert Trodick, of Las Vegas, NV., Janet & Denny Beach, of Kila, MT. Matthew & Missy Kapelanczyk, of Kalispell, MT., one brother; Joseph Kapelanczyk of Forest Hill, MD., grandchildren; Rebecca Dickey, of Kalispell, Rachel Johnson, of TX, Justin Trodick, of Bigfork, Jake Trodick, of Kalispell, Amanda Durband, of Billings, MT., Christopher Kapelanczyk, of Spokane, WA., Laura Kapelanczyk, of Helena,MT., Cole Kapelanczyk, of Kalispell, Lucas Kapelanczyk, of Kalispell, and 18 great grand children.
Frank was preceded in Death by his wife Emma “Boots” Kapelanczyk in 1992 and one sister Leona Ciresi in 2010, his parents Leon & Bertha Kapelanczyk. Frank will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Flathead County Council on Aging or Eagle Transit for their senior services.
