Gertrude "Trudy" Mary Boeke passed quietly at her home Saturday morning, Jan. 25, 2014, with her son, John, at her side.
Trudy was born Oct. 1, 1916, in Philadelphia. She was raised in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Trudy met her future husband, Jack Boeke, in Atlantic City, N.J. Jack and Trudy were married in November 1945, in Waseca, Minn. Their son, William Carl, was born November 1947, while in Minnesota. Trudy and Jack moved to the Seattle area where Jack was employed with the Boeing company. Their younger son, John Howell, was born in Seattle in August 1952.
Upon Jack's passing, Trudy moved to the Flathead Valley to be closer to her sons and grandchildren.
Trudy loved her home. She made her home a showcase place - decorating, cooking, baking and cleaning. She took great pride and pleasure in hosting luncheons and dinners. Trudy also loved to garden and shop.
Her son, Bill, preceded her in death.
Trudy is survived by her son, John, and her grandchildren, Shanelle, Codi, Jesse and Wyatt; her niece, Barbara; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin and Graysen.
Contributions may be sent to St. Jude's.
As per Trudy's request, there will be no memorial service.
It was an honor to know Trudy. As Trudy would say, "I love you dearly."
