Grace Kracher, 87, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.
Grace was born on March 27, 1926, in Havre to William and Sarah Gregoire. Grace grew up on a farm and ranch south of Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1942. She married Clifford Kracher on Aug. 27, 1949, in Havre. They were happily married and devoted to each other for 64 years. The close bond between Grace and Cliff was always evident in everything they did throughout their many years together. Her infectious, pleasant personality was felt by all she came in contact with.
Grace and Cliff began their life together working and living in Anaconda until 1969, when the family relocated to Columbia Falls. In 1987, they moved to Kalispell and have been residents ever since. Among her many interests and hobbies were music, dancing, playing the piano, motorcycling, attending Dixieland jazz festivals around the country, traveling, sewing, camping and hiking.
Grace is survived by her husband, Cliff, of Kalispell; her sons, Steve of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Jim and wife, Joan, of Plymouth, Minn.; grandchildren, Chad and Matthew of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, followed by a rosary. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Kalispell. Burial will follow at St. Richard's Cemetery in Columbia Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the lmmanuel Lutheran Home or Hospice Home Options of Kalispell. The family also wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the Immanuel Lutheran Home for their loving care, tenderness and support shown towards Grace during her stay with them.
