Harold Richard “Dick” Baker, 89, died Monday Dec. 5, 2016, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls,
Dick was born Jan. 19, 1927 in Rouseville, Pennsylvania to Clarence and Lewella (Rogers) Baker.
Dick joined the Navy in 1943 and was stationed on the USS Hamilton DMS 18 (Destroyer Mine Sweeper) and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He then went to trade school for appliance repair in Washington state.
In 1965, Dick married Dorothy Smith, they were married for 42 years before her passing in 2007.
Dick worked for Bitney’s Furniture for 25 years, and Smith’s for 15 years. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, two sisters, JoAnne and Susan, and daughter, Sharee McClintock.
He is survived by his children Wanda (Norris) Milan of Minden, Nevada; Terry Norris, Royal Norris and Wayne Norris, all of Kalispell; Alfred Norris of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Robin Sorbin (Norris) of McHenry, Mississippi, Jill (Baker )Namm of Encino, California, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and sister Barb Gillette of Hemet, California.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Dec. 12, 2016, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.
