Bert "passed into the eternal presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" on May 22, 2012.
Bert was born June 3, 1938, in Cardston, Alberta, joining two older sisters, Bernice and Margaret. The family moved to the Flathead Valley when Bert was 9. He attended a small country school his first eight years, then went on to graduate from Kalispell in 1956. He was honored for having a perfect attendance for all four years of high school.
He attended Western in Dillon on a football scholarship, and went to Montana State University in Bozeman where he received his master's degree in education. He spent 35 years as a teacher and coach, and then principal. He was also a member of the National Guard.
Bert met and married Gloria Thorson in 1970, and became an instant father of three.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Kalispell; a son, Lance Deglow, and his wife, Laura, of Kalispell; daughters, Tamara Deglow and Rebecca Adamson, both of Denver; four granddaughters, Brianne Pacheco, Brooke Paro, Brittany Deglow and Ciara Dibble; six grandsons, Wesley and Jordan Adamson, Spencer Sias, and Shane, Andrew and Gavin Weston; and a nephew, Doug Cordier, of Columbia Falls.
Bert was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at the Kalispell Foursquare Church on Highway 93 North.
