Irene, age 77, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022, in Kalispell Montana.
Irene graduated from St. Lawrence High School and married the father of her 3 children, Vic. She and Vic moved to Dryden, Mi after living 30yrs in Utica. Following 20yrs in Dryden raising a family, she went to Barber school and set off on an adventure ending up in gorgeous Kalispell, Montana. It was there that she opened her Barbershop named Clippers and the customers she loved made her laugh daily and stayed with her until the day she retired 25yrs later. She could cook and bake like no other, always sharing a great dessert like her apple pie or her beautiful cakes. She loved to be outdoors in her yard and garden and was always working towards perfection. She enjoyed boating in Flathead Lake and cruising the highways with the top down in her Corvette. She loved playing and working alongside her husband Dave for the last 28yrs of her life. She went to be with the Lord after a long and courageous battle with clinical depression. She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, David Knoll, her children, Cindy (Tim Leary) VandenBulcke, Jerry (Annette) VandenBulcke and Renee Kment; along with her grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob and Grace; her siblings Delores (Bob) Blake, Maryann (Tom) Janicki, John (Julia) Detroyer, Barb Detroyer Goike and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Detroyer and the father of her children, Vic VandenBulcke.
A memorial service will be held on May 20th 2022, 10am at St. Cornelius Church in Dryden, Michigan.
