James Turner

July 31, 1959 — April 9, 2018

James Matthew Turner was born July 31, 1959, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He died April 4, 2018, in Kalispell of natural causes.

Jim graduated from Fergus High School, Lewistown in 1977 and went on to earn a degree in broadcasting from MSU Bozeman in 1981. After college, he served in the U.S. Air Force.

Jim’s talents in photography and drawing earned him ribbons at the county fair each year. His flair for drama won him roles in community theater productions. Singing in the Valley Voices

and Bethlehem Lutheran Church Choirs in Kalispell brought him much joy. Jim found his home and heart in Kalispell and his family admires his grace. His family is also grateful for his many friends throughout his life journey.

Jim faithfully read daily devotions, journaled his reflections, and also wrote and self-published two memoirs of his early life. He also loved and collected movies and music.

Jim is survived by his siblings Kay Turner, Jan Turner Hazard, John Turner, and his beloved friends, Dave and Beth Brown.
