Janet May Perry Javorka, aged 87, passed away suddenly in Whitefish, Montana on April 16, 2021. Missing her greatly are her husband Edward Javorka of 66 years, son Michael (Lisa Marie), daughters Lisa and Linda (Jonathan), daughter-in-law Dot, grandchildren Scott, Kurt, Kristen, Kerri, McKenzie, Davis and Henry, and honorary granddaughter Isabelle, as well as 6 great-grandchildren. Jan is now reunited with her son Mark and her twin brother Jim.
Jan was a 45 year resident of Hayden Lake and was born and raised in Indiana. She met the love of her life, Edward Javorka, while he was attending Purdue University and they married in 1954. In 1957 Ed began his career with the U.S. Forest Service in Ant Flat, Montana. As a Forest Service wife, Jan was required to adapt to new and remote locations and primitive living conditions, however, Jan felt those years to be some of the best of her life. The family was also posted to Lincoln, Montana and Curlew and Colville, Washington before finally settling in Hayden Lake, Idaho.
Jan made friends easily everywhere she went. She loved her family, donut holes, coffee, long phone calls, Paul Newman, Christmas, knitting, needlepoint and playing games, especially cards, and winning at BINGO. Jan loved to travel with Ed in their RV and they crossed the U.S. multiple times. Her generous spirit led her to knit dozens of newborn outfits, record books for the blind and she volunteered for many years with the Hospice of North Idaho.
The family would like to thank the staff of North Valley Hospital, Whitefish, for the wonderful, kind and loving care provided to Jan during her last precious days.
