Jennifer Lewis

May 7, 1952 — August 16, 2014

Jennifer C. Lewis, 62, passed away peacefully at her home in Bigfork on Aug. 16, 2014, surrounded in love by her family and friends.

Jen was born May 7, 1952, in Waukegan, Illinois, and moved to West Okoboji, Iowa, shortly after with her loving parents John and Sally Cory.

While Jennifer was growing up in Iowa she threw herself into all she did; from pestering her little brother to horseback riding, water skiing, sailing, fishing and spending time with many of her various animals, Jennifer was always on the go.

Jen graduated from Spirit Lake High School and attended Stephens College in Columbus, Missouri, where she studied dance before giving in to her calling to move west. She first moved to Colorado and then to Montana in 1973, where she fell in love with Big Sky Country and set down her roots.

She will forever be remembered and greatly missed by family and friends for her compassionate spirit, quick wit and humor, ability to “throw together” delicious gourmet meals, have a spontaneous dance party in her living room, start a mean campfire, lend a listening ear to friends or family, and tend to any and all animals in need.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her mom Sally and dad John Cory.

She is survived by her children, Cory (Mary) Lewis, and Emily (Adam) Nichols; brother, Webster Cory; two special grandsons; and one soon-to-be granddaughter.

Jen will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Bigfork Quick Response Unit and/or Bigfork Fire Department.

“Mom, you belong among the wildflowers, you belong in a boat out to sea. Sail away, kill off the hours, you belong somewhere you feel free.”

There are no services planned at this time. Friends are encouraged to visit the website www.buffalohillfh.com to leave notes of condolence for the family. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
