Johnnie Veltum

John Eugene Veltum 61 Passed away on January 20th 2020 after a long illness

better know to close friends and Family as Johniedodge for his love of Dodge trucks.

he was born in Dallas ,Oregon on February 11th 1958 to Fred and Joan Veltum and two older siblings Sharon Freitag

whom named him Johnnie Eugene and a brother William Veltum ,

he loved being the baby of the family and used it to his advantage as often as he could.

In a previous Marriage he had three daughters born Veronica, Victoria and one died at birth and they gave him 4 grandchildren ,

he was married to his present wife Diane Veltum and they have been together for over 36 years ,he was a stepfather to daughter Jennifer Haynes of Polson, Mt  and Son Daniel Haskins of Kalispell  3 grandchildren Nathan ,Karlie and Tommy 4 greatgrandchildren Riley, Barry, Elliot and Liam...

he was very proud of his title as papa John and they Loved him unconditionally as he did them ,he was a long haul truck driver for many years and spent a lot of time away from home, his health caused him to make some changes and he moved his family here to Kalispell in 2006 from Oregon to be near his grandchildren

he drove truck her for a short time until he was forced to retire in 2014 he volunteered at the veterans food pantry for many months to keep busy

he served in the US Army and went to Germany for 4 years and Army National Guard for 13 years and was very proud of his service .

he was a selfless man ,always giving and never taking he just liked to help everyone in some way

he made friends quickly and often he was a very proud  and loved his family and friends fiercely and would do anything for them

he will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him
