Jose Guzman

Jose Flores Guzman, age 62 of Eureka, passed away July 8, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jose was born March 26, 1960 in Tempe, AZ to Jose and Virginia (Flores) Guzman. Jose cut his childhood short when he enlisted in the U.S Army at the age of seventeen for four years, during this time he was able to obtain his GED, and would serve another four years in the National Guard. He continued his education to become a printer tech.

Jose made his way back to Arizona and in 1994 in Mesa he would wed Albina “Penny”. They had a wonderful 28 years together watching his stepdaughters Christina and Guenevere flourish. Jose wasn’t one to slow down as he took on other professions as a Merchant Marine and trim carpenter, but he played just as hard always watching classic westerns, fishing, hunting, chopping wood for the community and even his own Christmas trees all while listening to Little Joe.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Virginia; Evangelina Caudillo, Robert Guzman and Veronica Flores. He is survived by his wife Penny; stepdaughters Christina and Guenevere Dopf; sister Carmen Guzman Garcia; grandchildren Adalynn, Austin, Aiden and Hailey (Ethan); nieces and nephews Sylvia Garcia-Lujan (Paul), Victoria Garcia-Zapien (Ralph), Silvino Garcia III (Roxy), Eva Arroyos (Chris), Venessa De La Rosa (Frank), Angelina Becerra (Alex), Lorraine and Melina. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
