Judith (Tague) Leger

August 9, 1947 — October 21, 2018

Judith Diane (Tague) Leger arrived on a beautiful August day in 1947 in Bozeman, Montana. She passed away on Oct. 21, 2018 in Kalispell. She was the second child of Lois and Don Tague. Her parents divorced when she was about 12 months old and she stayed with her mother. A couple years later her mother married Harlow Leger and he became her father for life. They moved to Akron, OH where her two brothers were born. They later returned to Montana where she lived in East Helena until she married Jack Nelson and moved to San Diego with the military. They had a son Spencer Nelson and later divorced, but Judith stayed in California until 2010. She supported herself and Spencer working as a waitress for several years, until she married Robert Schumacher and remained married until his death. Judy, as we all knew her, was a bright beautiful and talented woman. She loved California and was determined to stay there. Judith, Robert, and Spencer back packed through Europe for three months, which was one of the highlights of her life. Judy owned a successful Interior Design Company in the San Francisco Bay area specializing in renovating old warehouses on the wharfs. She followed that dream until diabetes took it from her. She fought that disease for the rest of her life, but as her health declined she worked at a pre-school near her home and the kids loved her. Her artistic abilities not only served well in the Interior Design field, but in her leisure times as well, as she was an accomplished artist. Judith was preceded in death by Lois and Harlow Leger, husband Robert Schumacher, birth father Donald Tague, half-brothers, Richard Leger, and David Leger. She is survived by her son Spencer Nelson, brother Gary (Pennie) Tague, Uncle Jack Hawks, and Aunt Priscilla Boyer. Private services were held.
