Keith Joseph Filipp of Whitefish, Montana passed away on May 8th, 2017 at 54 years old.
He leaves behind his wife Linda Miller Filipp; daughters Megan Colleen and Kara Morgan; son-in-law Sean Dunleavy; parents Ben and Loretta Filipp; in-laws George and Anne Miller; brothers and sisters Gwen and Paul Fief, Shay and Gene Roberts, Roxanne and Tim Walsh, Kevin and Kristin Filipp, Loretta and Joey Roye, Elaine Reed; and many dear friends.
He grew up in Danbury, Texas where at an early age he learned from his father what it meant to be a man: kind, loving, fair, brave. His innate tenacity, strength and sense of adventure led him to the United States Army where he served as a highly decorated Special Forces Green Beret for 30 years.
In 2012 Keith retired to pursue other passions — skiing, fly fishing, hunting, shooting, boating, wine making, gardening, and spending time with his animals — in Big Sky Country and Salisbury, Maryland.
Keith will forever be remembered for his jovial spirit, unwavering faith, contagious laugh and unrivaled strength. To our American Hero, loving husband and father — fire and forget.
Services will be held at 10:00am Friday, May 12th at St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Columbia Falls, Montana. The burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family asks for donations in lieu of flowers to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center A.L.E.R.T. fund.
