 Ken Adler, 84

Kenneth Henry Adler went to Heaven peacefully in his sleep at home on May 30, 2024, holding the hand of the love of his life.

Ken was born in Madison, WI to Raymond and Barbara Adler on March 23, 1940, the youngest of 6 children. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 of his siblings. His surviving brother, Dick (Carol) lives in Missoula. Ken is survived by his children: Katie, Ken (Patty) and Chris (Beth), 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He, also, has many surviving nieces and nephews and his 3 stepchildren, Morna (Don), Alan, Roger (Tamara), step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ken's family moved to Billings, MT in 1948 where he graduated from Billings Central in 1958 and then, attended St. John's University in Collegeville, MN. He married in 1962 and that marriage gave him his 3 beautiful children. His marriage ended in 2007.

Ken entered military service through ROTC, served in Vietnam and left the military as a Captain after 4 years of service. He was a true Patriot and loved this country all his life. After working as Sales Manager for Weyerhaeuser for 12 years he retired in Whitefish and opened the first Bed and Breakfast in Montana – the Duck Inn. The Duck Inn was his pride and joy until it sold in 2006.

Ken was a die-hard Notre Dame fan causing many a joke with fellow challengers. His theme song was certainly "Notre Dame Victory March." (take that USC!)

In 2009 Ken met the love of his life, Rose Marie Nelson, a match made in heaven. They spent the remainder of his life knowing blessings upon blessings as a couple. This included many travels, family time and loving talks at the kitchen table.

Ken will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was known for his grateful and generous spirit; his quick wit; his protective nature of his extended family; and was always an encourager in every way possible. Our hearts miss him deeply.
