Kenneth D. Mallett died Jan. 14, 2016, at Heritage Place Healthcare Community in Kalispell.
He was born to Vada and Chet Mallett March 1, 1924, in Downing, Missouri.
His family moved to Northern Colorado when Ken was 3 months old. Ken and his six siblings were educated through high school in Wellington, Colorado
After graduation, Ken joined the U.S. Navy in World War II. When the war was over he entered the University of Colorado in Boulder and earned an electrical engineering degree.
He married Frances Doran in 1946. They had two children, Steven in 1950 (later passing away in 1990) and Janet was born in 1954.
Ken worked for several large companies through the years and had moved from coast to coast, the last being in Falls Church, Virginia, where he represented his company at the Navy Department. He retired in 1985 and they moved back to Colorado where he and Fran had grown up.
They moved to Kalispell in 2007 to be near their daughter and her family, Jan and P.C. Musgrove; granddaughter, Kari Musgrove, Tiffany in Portland, and Josh in New Orleans with his wife Jenny and son Jude. Ken is also survived by a brother in Arizona, two sisters and a brother in Colorado.
There will be a celebration of his life this summer in Colorado.
