Kenneth Hubert Nardinger, 83, of Kalispell, passed away Dec. 1, 2020, following an extended battle with dementia and other complications. His wife, Marlene, died two months prior. They are now joined in a heavenly reunion in God’s loving arms.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; parents, Frank and Ann Nardinger; brother, Charles Nardinger; and sisters, Louise Christensen, Janice Budeski and Phyllis Corbally.
Ken is survived by their two children, Sue (Wes) Plummer and Brenda (Mike) Anderson, along with their grandchildren, Jeremy (Janell) Plummer and Amy (Eric) Gardner; as will as eight beloved great-grandchildren, Sam, Ione and Sadie Plummer and Walter, Charlie, Norman, Stanley and Clyde Gardner. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat Cislo, Joanne Waldenberg, Shirley Wilson, Sharon Gray, Joyce Thoren, and Carol Nedved.
Ken attended St. Gerard’s School through the eighth grade. He then went on to Central High School and the College of Great Falls. During the summer months he worked with his dad and uncle in home construction and remodeling. He then worked for Sletten Construction building 250 duplexes at Malmstrom Air Force Base.
Following their marriage in 1961, he became an insurance adjuster, which included travel as he worked storm duty on several occasions. When he resigned from that, the family choose to reside permanently in Kalispell where he returned to his passion of building. Among his numerous projects, he built our family cabin at Swan Lake. Theirs was one of four on the property, that was a combined effort with three of his siblings. The tradition of our annual “family week” reunion will remain a priority for generations to come as we enjoy our little piece of “heaven on earth” and remember the love and hard work of so many that made it possible.
Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is handling his cremation. A combined service for Ken and Marlene will take place at a time when we can gather family and friends.
Donations can be made to St. Matthew's, located at 602 Main Street, Kalispell, MT 59901.
A special thank you to the staff of Prestige for their passionate care over the past years.
