Kevin Scott Johnson, 36, passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014.
The laughter and sense of giving someone a bad time came to an end all too soon on Monday for the family of Kevin S. Johnson. Kevin was born Aug. 28, 1978, to Bill “Wilfred” and Marilyn Farris Johnson. His haste to come into the world had continued throughout his 36 years.
On Sept. 2, 2000, he married the love of his life, Mindy Jones. The love for her was deeper than anyone, but he, could know. To this union three beautiful children were born. First came Kadin, the all sport child, then the most beautiful daughter, Alivia, the angel and dancer her dad couldn’t be prouder of, and the ambitious Caleb came in as a bouncing boy and continues to energize his family, from skateboards to sports. They spent a wonderful Sunday with their dad — passing footballs, making skateboards and riding horses — memories the family will keep forever.
Kevin was employed at the Hampton Inn in Kalispell at the time of his death, as assistant general manager. He was recently promoted to general manager, an accomplishment he was excited about and looking forward to.
During Kevin’s school years he was active in 4-H and FFA. Raising beef animals and exemplifying his leadership skills gave him tools as he proceeded in his career choices. Kevin attended West Valley School and Flathead High School, graduating in 1996. He loved to get together with family and friends especially for holidays. Halloween was a favorite along with hiding eggs at Easter and waiting to help Santa with his chores.
“Waiting to welcome Kevin to his new eternal home” are his paternal grandparents, Wilfred and Emma Jean Johnson; and maternal grandparents, Forest and Margaret Farris; as well as Mindy’s Grandma Bernie; and cousin, Brian Figgins.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Marilyn Johnson; wife, Mindy; daughter, Alivia; sons, Kadin and Caleb; sister, Lisa; sister-in-law, Nikki, and Heath Shepardson; mother-in-law, Vicki, and Joe Jam; father-in-law, Fred, and Jeanne Jones; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His many friends he left behind will miss his smile and caring ways.
A memorial service for Kevin is planned for 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with a reception to follow at Hampton Inn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education trust fund being set up for Kevin’s children. Checks may be made payable to KJAJCJ Education Fund, c/o Marilyn Johnson, P.O. Box 7244, Kalispell, MT 59901.
