Our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, step-mother, sister, and aunt, Keziah (Kay) M. Mark Lovell passed away on August 17, 2010 at Kalispell, Montana . Kay was born on March 22, 1919 in Kindred, ND; the daughter of Albert and Selma (Bjerke) Swenson. She graduated from Kindred High and received her teaching certificate from Mayville State Teacher's College in 1940. While at Mayville she met her future husband, Edgar T. Mark. Kay and Ed were married in 1941 and from this union four daughters were born: Sharon Kay, Ellen Jeanette, Kathleen Marie and Teri Jean.  After the war mom and dad lived in Neche, ND, Cooperstown, ND and Williston, ND where dad was a school administrator and teacher. Mom stayed home with her girl's, doing some substitute teaching, did the school census and also the Gallop Poll . She was very active in the First Lutheran Church as a LCR leader and an active member of the Church Circle. In 1959 mom went back to teaching and taught at Indian Hill and Epping schools until 1964. Mom was active in Eastern Star and in January 1963 was elected Worthy Matron.  After dad died in 1964 mom taught school in at Rickard Elementary in Williston and attended summer school at Minot State Teacher's College, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in 1969. She was a member of the Williston Education Assoc., the ND Education Association as well as the National. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society , the American Legion Auxiliary , and the BPOE Auxiliary. Mom had been a champion basketball player in high school and college and took great pride in the fact that she played basketball into her 50s. Her team won the Williston Women's League basketball tournaments several times.   In 1974 she married Orrin B. Lovell. She again retired from teaching and moved to Beach, ND where Orrin was State's Attorney. Mom happily became the step-mother of five children, Jamie, Kent, Faith, Chris and Greg. She and Orrin always said they had nine children, never his and hers. She considered herself very lucky to find two good husbands to share her life.  Always a bridge player, in Beach she belonged to a bridge club, the yearly marathon (which she and her partner won many times) and loved her afternoon foursomes of playing for quarters. She was a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress and she and Orrin bowled on a couple's team and mother also bowled on a womens' league. She enjoyed traveling and always met a new friend wherever she went. She was proud of the fact that that she visited all fifty states.  No longer able to live alone because of failing eyesight, Mother moved to the Golden Valley Manor in Beach for a year. However her kidneys also failed her and she then moved to Wel-Life Assisted Living in Kalispell to be near her daughter Kathy and family. There she received dialysis and managed to have a fairly comfortable life for two more years.  Mother was preceded in death by her first husband Edgar T. Mark, her second husband, Orrin B. Lovell, her step-son Jamie Lovell, her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
