Lawrence E. Skaarland, 67, passed away peacefully at his home in Kalispell on May 13, 2018.
Larry was born on Feb. 9, 1951, in Livingston to Elmer and Agnes Skaarland.
Larry retired from BNSF after 40 years as a railroad engineer. He loved anything railroad-related, including his hobby scale railroad which he built and maintained himself. Many kids and adults enjoyed riding on and operating his unique hobby. Larry also enjoyed exploring any highway, backroad and trail just to see “new trees.”
Larry is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Kimberly; son, Lee; stepdaughters, Chip, Michelle and Amanda; siblings, Irene, Ellen, Marge, Al, Les, Dennis and Roger; as well as 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life for this fun-loving, generous man at his home in Kalispell on June 30, for friends and family.
