Lillian I. Enevold, 95, passed peacefully on Oct. 26, 2017, at the Brendan House surrounded by co-workers and her daughter. She suffered from Alzheimer’s but did so with dignity.
Lillian was born in Reynolds, North Dakota, to Oscar and Selm (Jorgenson) Svien on Sept. 18, 1922. She was one of six children. She grew into adulthood in McIntosh, Minnesota, where she met and married her husband, Marvin C. Enevold, on Oct.16, 1940.
They moved to Shelby, Montana, for 10 years and then lived for a short time in California, before moving to Kalispell where Marvin worked for the post office until his death in 1976. Lillian worked at the Valley Bank for a few years but retired to become a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents; her five siblings, Helen Dyrdahl, Joe Svien, Olga Ostenaa, Marion Knudson and Ralph Svien; her two nieces, Kelly Knudson and Marlys (Dyrdahl) Lunde; and nephew, DeWayne Ostenaa.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeanette (Jan) Hartman of Kalispell, and Donna (Tim) Holsapple and only grandson, Jeffrey Holsapple, of Alta Loma, California. She is also survived by three nieces, Beverly (Dyrdahl) Hallburg, Debbie (Svien) Relaz and Lois Ostenaa; and two nephews, James Dyrdahl and Ron Svien.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kalispell. Lillian’s final resting place will be at a later date at Our Savior’s Cemetery in McIntosh.
