Lois Peterson

Lois Caroline Peterson age 93 passed away January 24, 2021 at the Springs in Whitefish MT.  Lois was born in East Orange NJ on August 1, 1927 to Frederick and Bertha (Drake) Kammerer. She was raised in East Orange, NJ and then moved to Oakhurst, New Jersey and then for 59 years in Lincrof, New Jersey.
Lois married the love of her life Arnold Peterson in March of  1951 at Roosevelt Methodist Church in Newark, New Jersey,  they were married 69 years.

She was a member of Red Methodist Church in New Jersey for many years.

Lois attended Oberlin Conservatory of music and graduated from Drake secretarial school. She then worked for Stout and O’Hagan Law Office in her early years of marriage. Lois loved to volunteer at the Family and Children services, American Red Cross, and was a 20-year volunteer at Riverview Medical Center in New Jersey with 4000 hours. she loved music, played the flute, piano, organ and spent many hours entertaining others playing the organ or piano. Her greatest joys were her granddaughter and great grandchildren.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Bertha Kammerer and brother Richard Kammerer.

She is survived by her loving husband Arnold Peterson of Whitefish, MT. Daughters : Nancy MacDonald of Kalispell, MT, and Barbara ( Jack ) Foley  of Whitefish, MT, granddaughter Christine ( John )Nelson  of Whitefish MT. and great grandchildren John and Autumn. Nieces and nephews Craig Kammerer of Watchung, New Jersey nephew Steve Kammerer of Atlanta, Georgia and Kathleen ( Robert )Schumacher of Fulong, Pennsylvania,

She will always be remembered for her caring spirit she was a friend to many and was loved by all that knew her. A Private Family service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Whitefish with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Red Cross in Lois’s
