Loren Brown

Loren Allen Brown, 73, Kalispell, died February 5, 2020 at Kalispell Regional Hospital.

Loren and his twin sister, Lorraine, were born March 22, 1946 in Kalispell to John C. and Grace I. (Eisele) Brown.  He received his GED and was the third generation to live on the Brown Homestead in McMannamy Draw, raising his sons and cattle and a host of dog, cats, and horses.  No stray animal was turned away.

He was in the National Guard and completed training at Ford Ord.   He was a lifetime railroad man, working as a brakeman and conductor for Burlington Northern and Amtrak.  When not working for the railroad, he worked for himself as a rancher and had his own sawmill.

His proudest accomplishment, however, was as the father of his two sons, Russell and Darrell.   He was also a father figure to several other children and stepkids and grandkids.   He loved to chat and was the kind of guy who when he asked how you were doing, really wanted to know.   He was the most generous and honest person we knew.  He was a member of AA and valued his years of sobriety

He was preceded in death by his parents.   He is survived by his two sisters, Carol Anderson, and his twin sister Lorraine Turnacliff, and his two sons Russell and Darrell Brown, and his two grandkids Levi and Carson Brown.

The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU at KRMC for their loving and attentive care.  The family asks that donations be made to the Flathead Spay and Neuter Task Force.   There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday, Feb. 11th at 11am at Stillwater Free Lutheran Church with a private burial for family at Spring Creek Cemetery.
