Margaret Danielson

April 8, 1934 — January 21, 2015

Margaret “Maggie” Danielson, 80, of Kalispell, passed away on Jan. 21, 2015, in her home with her family around her. Maggie “went peacefully from her temporary home here on Earth to her eternity home in heaven.”

Maggie was born in Anaconda on April 8, 1934, to William and Neomi Flachmeyer, joining a family of 11 brothers and sisters. Shortly after, Maggie and five siblings were sent to an orphanage in Deer Lodge.

At age 12, Maggie moved to Kalispell with her adoptive parents, Hubert and Ruth Hunt. She later began working at Depot Park as a waitress where she met the love of her life, John Danielson. On Feb. 21, 1959, John and Maggie wed. They had four beautiful children.

In December of 1978, John passed away, leaving Maggie to raise their children. After John's passing, Maggie became a maid for the Outlaw Inn, where she worked for 14 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Danielson; her biological mother and father; adoptive parents, Hubert and Ruth Hunt of Kalispell; three brothers, Joe, George and Robert; and a granddaughter, Olivia Peters of Colorado.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley and husband, John, of Washington; sisters, Rita, Patricia, Susan, Mary Ellen and April; brothers, Leroy and Larry Lee; her children and their spouses, Christine and husband Jon Wilson of California, Juanita and husband Tim Peters of Colorado, Robert and wife Sheri Danielson of Kalispell, and Darlene and her husband Alan Compton of Kalispell; grandchildren, Adam of New Mexico, Lance of Colorado, John and wife Megan of Kalispell, Britanni of Kalispell, Richard of Kalispell, Cody and wife Jayn of Kalispell, Brandy and husband Bryce of Kalispell, Morgan and Ryder of Kalispell, Shaun of Kalispell, Sammy of Kalispell, Chelsea and husband Steve of Kalispell, Samantha and husband Dan of Arizona, Bri and husband Marcus of Kalispell, and Jessie and Cheyenne of Kalispell; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her nephew, Bob. She also leaves behind her dogs, Mickey and Tigger.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Feb. 10, at East Haven Baptist Church, 2010 Whitefish Stage Road, in Kalispell. Burial of her ashes will be at 1 p.m. on Feb. 11, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery, with her husband. Reception following service on Feb. 10, at 300 Summit Ridge Road, in Kalispell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Frontier Hospice or the ASPCA.
