Mark S. Lewis

September 19, 1959 — September 23, 2024

Kalispell, Montana

Mark Steven Lewis, 65, passed away, with family by his side, due to post surgical complications on Monday night, September 23rd, 2024.

Mark was born September 19th, 1959, in Denver, Colorado. Mark was adopted December 16th, 1960, at the young age of 15 months, by Lyle and Ruth “Irene” Lewis. Mark’s adoption date was celebrated yearly with his parents with a special dinner and gifts. Mark was an only child.

Mark attended schools in Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from Brighton High School in 1978.

Mark spent many of his years in Pocatello, Idaho, living with his parents. While there, Mark participated in the services offered at Joshua D. Smith & Associates. This program provides basic living skills, health, wellness, and socialization.

In 2011, Mark moved to be closer to family in Great Falls, Montana. At this time, Mark lived independently at Park Manor, a residence downtown. Mark made many friends while living there and enjoyed the daily meals, especially the fish sandwich. Mark loved the downtown atmosphere, particularly watching the parades and attending the farmer’s market, among other activities.

After his parents passed, Mark’s cousin Kristie, and her family, looked after him. Mark was forever grateful for Kristie’s love, dedication, and care throughout the years.

In January 2024, Mark relocated to Kalispell, Montana, to be closer to his cousin, Kristie. Mark resided at Bee Hive Assisted Living and greatly enjoyed his new home, which has a breathtaking view of mountains. Mark loved his Bee Hive family.

Mark enjoyed camping, fishing, and listening to rock and roll music. Mark also loved caffeine in the forms of copious amounts of coffee and Diet Pepsi. Mark’s favorite foods were fish sandwiches, enchiladas, and mint chip ice cream.

Mark had a kind, loving soul, and he gave the best hugs. Mark was always up for a fun, fake, boxing punch gesture with his Park Manor friends, Beehive staff, as well as his medical providers and their personnel.

Mark is survived by his special cousins: Kristie (Larry) Milligan and Jered Milligan of Kalispell, Montana, Wendy (Ole) Fiske of Great Falls, Montana, and Kayce Milligan of Butte, Montana. Mark is also survived by his Aunt Mary Madsen, Aunt Shirley Madsen, and numerous cousins in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held at a later date when he will be laid to rest with his parents in Elk Horn, Iowa.

We will miss you, Markie. Until we meet again, “Loves ya!”
