It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Sachkowsky announce her passing after a brief illness, on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Buffalo Hills Retreat, at the age of 102 years. Mary was born on August 17, 1916 to Lazur and Anastasia Novak, in South River, NJ.
Mary is pre-deceased by her loving husband Michael Sachkowsky who were married on November 22, 1941 in Elizabeth, NJ.
Mary received her RN degree in 1939 at Kings County Hospital, New York City. followed by her BS degree in 1968 at Jersey City State College. She excelled in her career in various hospitals and in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood school system as a school nurse of 25 years.
Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed deep discussions, and loved gardening, wildlife, camping and traveling to far off parts of the US as well as Kenya, Turkey, Russia and Siberia.
Remembered by her family - daughter Cathy Sachkowsky, sons Michael and Peter Sachkowsky of Columbia Falls, and by two grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Family & friends are invited to the BUFFALO HILLS FUNERAL HOME, Hwy 93 N, Kalispell, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Burial will be the following morning at 11 a.m. at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
