Miriam Batt Foot

February 26, 1929 — May 8, 2019

Miriam Batt Foot, 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Expressions Memory Care in Kalispell.

Miriam was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Ballantine, Montana, the ninth and youngest born to Fred and Mary Batt.

Miriam attended grades 1-4 at Longfellow Grade School north of Shepherd, Montana, and then spent the rest of her formal schooling at Shepherd and graduated from high school there.

She then moved to Billings and did secretarial work until she married Ken Waller in 1948 and they later made their home in Kalispell. They had four children, Lloyd, Cynthia, Lynne and Steven. Miriam married John Britt in 1959, and they lived in Roundup, Montana, where her last child, Wayne was born.

She had her own house-cleaning business while living in Billings, and when she moved to Roundup she did alterations for a local clothing store. After John retired, they moved to Canyon Ferry Lake near Helena, where she co-managed a marina, campground and small grocery store. After John died in 1987, she met Frank Foot for the second time in her life, and five years later married him and moved back to Kalispell where they built a new home to spend their golden years.

Miriam had 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter, who she loved dearly. Miriam loved her little dogs. They brought her great joy and made her laugh so many, many times. She had numerous hobbies and was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She was always sharing plants and cuttings with her children, and those plants still grace their yards and gardens.

Miriam was preceded in death by her husband Frank Foot, her youngest son Wayne Britt, her father and mother and three sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by Lloyd Waller, Cynthia Whitbeck, Lynne (Steven) Cook and Steven Waller and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers Miriam wanted donations sent to your local hospice, because she felt they are so important and the work they do helps so many.

Memorial services will be held in late summer for both Papa and Mom.
