Nola (Bailey) Morey, 92, from Columbia Falls, MT, returned to her eternal home on March 4, 2020, after a short illness. Nola was born March 22, 1927, in Spring Valley, WI to Mark and Theresa (Owens) Bailey. She was the 6th of 7 children including siblings Mark, Neil, Don, Avis, June and Ron. Nola met and married her husband of 44 years, C. Robert (Bob) Morey, while working in Yellowstone National Park. Nola and Bob began an odyssey of working in various National Parks including Yellowstone, Theodore Roosevelt, Big Bend, Saguaro, and Glacier. Nola embraced the Park Service life as a full-time mom, cherishing the challenge of raising 5 children in wild and beautiful places. She didn’t shy from taking them all fishing, camping, or hiking and loved telling the stories from her memories. When the Morey nest emptied, Nola took the reins of the Glacier Natural History Association and continued working to support Glacier National Park.
Nola is survived by her daughters Suzanne (Al) Morey-Menke, Tina Morey, Rene (Jessie) Farias; son Eric (Jenny) Morey and daughter-in-law Anjelika (Nat)Morey; her grandchildren Tom (Christina) Menke, Kelci (Jerry) Skibinsky, Shannon (Robby) Pohle, Neil and Cody Farias; her great-grandchildren Daechen Menke and Loic and Evie Skibinsky.
Nola was preceded in death by her husband Bob, 24 years to the day of her death; her son, Nat; her grandson, Peter Morey, and her brothers and sisters.
